Harvest the last broad beans and first sweetcorn if you’re lucky to have any! Tomatoes, peppers, chillies and aubergine should be able to be harvested too now.

Check French and runner beans as often as possible and harvest before they get too big as they seem to double overnight!

Pick plums, greengage’s and blackberries and maybe apples, pears and figs.

Sow your last carrots and turnips plus onion seeds and spring cabbages for next year.

Feed your pumpkins is you want whoppers for Halloween!

Dry out garlic, onions and shallots so they can be stored for winter.

Don’t forget the Swallowfield Show is on on 25th and 26th August, lots to see and do and you could enter the competition in the produce tent with items you’ve grown, if you do, please put Swallowfield Allotment next to your name on the entry, good luck!!

We hope you may have noticed the shiny new roof on the big barn which will hopefully protect it for the next 25+ years!

Also, we have renewals coming up soon and it would be helpful to know if you’re not planning on renewing your contract for the next year. Please let Jane know if that is the case. Thanks
