Moving the mountain

The seemingly impossible task of moving a mountain was achieved by a small hardy group of plotters on Tuesday 13th February 2024!

During 2023, ground works to help improve the drainage on the Calico Field, the site of the SPAA allotments, left a large mountain of soil on Plot 4. With the intention of spreading it out when some of the organic vegetation had rotted down, a small band of plotters decided that the time had come! Working in a steady drizzle, and just with spades and wheelbarrows, they manage to level the mountain over two hours. A magnificent achievement. Thank you Peter, Neil, John and Jane. The plot is now ready to be prepared for a new plotter.
