Spring 2021 arrives at the Allotment

Spring 2021 has arrived at the Swallowfield Allotment! There is a buzz of activity as plotters clear away the winter debris from their plots, dig over the ground and spread out manure across the beds. Buds are appearing on the fruit trees and brightly coloured daffodils and tulips are cheering up the Allotment. The first vegetables are poking their bright green shoots out of the ground – onions are the first. Rhubarb is sprouting beautiful green and purple shoots. Although everyone is wary of late frosts, the plotters and getting busy with the new season of growing!
